FIELD HOCKEY TRAVEL

SOUTH AFRICA

In July, 2023 I was offered an opportunity to travel with some members of Next Level MD and my club coach, Welma Luus, to South Africa for 15 days. During this trip we trained and competed against many different local teams throughout Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Polokwane.

ARGENTINA

I was selected as a member of the U16 USA Field Hockey Delegation to the 2023 Pan American Maccabi Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I spent 10 days in December and January competing with 4,000+ Jewish athletes from over 20 countries in the Western Hemisphere. My team beat Argentina in a hard fought 3-2 final game to earn USA the bronze in the 2023 Pan American Games.

THE NETHERLANDS

In July, 2024 I traveled to Holland, the center of Dutch hockey, to train with male and female players from all over Europe! At Sportways FIH World Hockey Camp we lived and trained on the pitch where the Dutch national team trains. It was truly amazing and I learned skills I could not have any other way.

Morocco
2025 Summer
Study Abroad

Visited and engaged in immersive academic program at Université Internationale de Rabat, studying Morocco’s history, political systems, women’s rights advancements, and the balance between modernization and Islamic traditions.

Collaborated with NGOs, including Fondation Oriental Occidental, Initiative for the Protection of Rights of Women, Douar Tech, and Bouragreg Med-O-Med, gaining firsthand insight into refugee support, women’s empowerment, technology access, and sustainable agriculture training for underserved youth.

Applied intercultural communication skills through Arabic language study and direct engagement with local leaders, activists, and community members.

Developed a deeper understanding of social justice, human rights, and grassroots change through participation in field visits, workshops, and hands-on learning experiences.
